GETTING STARTED

Your first round. Your own pace.

A few simple ways to feel more at home when you’re new to the game.

Start with a conversation

Before you visit, ask the course or club about visitor arrangements, dress expectations, equipment hire and suitable times for beginners. Every venue does things a little differently. Knowing what to expect leaves you free to enjoy the day.

Keep the first day simple

You don’t need to know everything at once. A practice session or a shorter round can give you room to get comfortable. If you want instruction, ask the venue about a qualified golf professional who can help you start.

Think about the people around you

Be ready when it’s your turn, give other players space and follow the venue’s safety guidance. If you’re unsure about pace or etiquette, ask your playing partners. A little consideration goes a long way.

Make it your game

Your first round isn’t a test you have to pass. Notice what you enjoy, ask questions and give yourself time. If you need help exploring equipment or clothing, the Karibu team is a message away.
